Why Threema?

A secure communication app

Privacy is important to us, which is why we rely on Threema, the Swiss alternative to WhatsApp!

We prefer to communicate with Threema for the following reasons:

• We would like to rely more on European products and therefore try to avoid American chat apps.

• WhatsApp records communication behavior and uses it to create a profile that is used for advertising purposes.
  We do not want to support such a business model.

• We do not want to disclose personal data and therefore prefer to use a messaging service that does not require a telephone number or email address.

• We do not want to contribute to consolidating the monopoly position of tech companies.

• We want to prevent our data from being misused for AI training and therefore prefer to use a chat app that does not use AI.

• For transparency reasons, we try to use open source software whenever possible.

We find the price of 1-3 beer / coffee fair for secure communication.
